Operational Test OTB - Line Pressure Test

  1. Connect Pressure Gauge to the line pressure inspection port (square head plug L), and the engine.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Apply the parking brake and block the wheels.
  4. Shift the gearshift lever to the (D) position.
  5. Read and record the line pressure at idle.
  6. CAUTION: The following steps must be completed within 5 seconds, followed by cooling the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) . The ATF can be cooled by placing the automatic transmission (A/T) in neutral (N) for one minute while the engine is at idle. Otherwise damages to the automatic transmission may occur.

Press the accelerator to the floor (WOT) .

  1. Read and record the line pressure with the engine at constant speed.
  2. Release the accelerator pedal.
  3. NOTE: If the EPC solenoid fails, the A/T will operate at full line pressure.

Compare the test results with the line pressure specification chart.

  1. CAUTION: Cool the ATF between each gear position being tested to avoid damages to the transmission.

Repeat Operational Test OTB - Line Pressure Test for the following gearshift lever positions: R, D, and L.
