'93 Chrysler Town & Country, No Power Brakes
Q:
Can you provide any info concerning my ‘93 Chrysler Town
& Country van? It has over 122k miles on it. The ABS and Parking brake
light is on. Most of the time, the brakes are rock hard. It takes more
distance to stop the van but I can usually accommodate. The assist part
of the brakes do not seem to be working. This will not be a DIY project
for me but can you tell me what is going on? . . . Bill Hawsey

Don’t drive your vehicle! Have it towed to your nearest
Chrysler dealer! There is a safety recall that may affect your vehicle.
The ABS system used in the early 90’s on your type of vehicle had
problems. Because your brake pedal is hard, not stopping the vehicle well
it is possible that brake actuator or the pump motor may have failed.
I repeat, do not drive your vehicle! The only way to a safe repair is
behind a tow truck!
