'89 Mazda, Make It Fit
Q:
I have an 89
Mazda B2600 pick-up. I want to change engines and was wondering if I could
get a Ford or Chevy motor to bolt to the transmission without having to
change anything. All I want to do is replace the engine with the same
size engine or maybe even a six if possible. Michael Hudson
A:
I doubt that a Ford or Chevy engine will bolt up to the transmission of
your Mazda. But, if youre thinking that kind of change over Id
used a Ford or Chevy engine with a Ford or Chevy transmission to go with
it. The frame on your Mazda pick-up is a great candidate for modification.
Myself, if I were to go through that work Id stuff at least a V-8
in. Good luck and have fun.
