Mitsubishi Gallant, Transmission Woes
Q: My daughter has a ‘96 Mitsubishi Gallant
that has approximately 75k. She kept up with oil changes, etc., but didn’t
keep the receipts. The car needed a new transmission last month and the
dealer said that no goodwill adjustment to the $2100 cost was available
without those receipts. Is there a Customer Service number or address
that you know of, and do you think an appeal would result?
A: Mitsubishi
has been plagued with scandal. Last summer the automaker admitted they
had been systematically hiding driver complaints for more than 20 years.
Just recently Mitsubishi announced another recall for more than 1.5 million
vehicles. Daimler-Chrysler which now owns 34% of the company has their
quality control team in place in an effort to win back customer trust.
Try this phone number for Mitsubishi 800-222-0037. Your timing couldn’t
be any better.
