Intake Manifold

Removal
WARNING: Fuel supply lines will remain pressurized for long periods of time after engine shut down. This pressure must be relieved before disconnecting any fuel lines or fuel system components to prevent possible injury. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
Disconnect the throttle position sensor wiring.
Raise the vehicle.
Drain the cooling system .
Remove the splash shield.
Remove the bolt.
Lower the vehicle.
Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core .
Disconnect the main engine control sensor wiring. Remove the connectors from the mounting bracket.
Disconnect the vacuum supply hoses from the intake manifold by squeezing the tabs, twisting the hoses and pulling them away from the intake manifold.
Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the valve cover .
Remove the drive belt .
Remove the bolts. Position the generator (GEN) out of the way.
Disconnect the fuel line.
Disconnect accelerator and speed control cables.
Disconnect fuel charging wiring harness.
Remove the intake manifold.
Remove the two nuts and seven bolts in the sequence shown.
Remove the intake manifold.
Inspect the intake manifold gaskets .
If required, remove the intake manifold gaskets . Discard the intake manifold gaskets. Installation
If required, install the new intake manifold gasket .
Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
Install the intake manifold.
Install the bolts and nuts.
Tighten the bolts and nuts in the sequence shown.
