CAUTION: Do not remove the evaporative emission hoses from the assembly as damage may occur to the valve or the fittings. The fuel vapor control valve and hoses are repaired as an assembly only.
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
WARNING: THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM CONTAINS FUEL VAPOR AND CONDENSED FUEL VAPOR. ALTHOUGH NOT PRESENT IN LARGE QUANTITIES, IT STILL PRESENTS THE DANGER OF EXPLOSION OR FIRE. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE FROM THE BATTERY TO MINIMIZE THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ELECTRICAL SPARK OCCURRING, POSSIBLY CAUSING A FIRE OR EXPLOSION IF FUEL VAPOR OR FUEL LIQUID IS PRESENT IN THE AREA. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
Disconnect and remove the fuel vapor control valve tube assembly at the fuel tank by disconnecting the fuel vapor control valve tube at the inline tee and from the fuel filler pipe.
Remove the fuel vapor control valve tube assembly.
NOTE: Be sure to place the fuel vapor control valve tube assembly bracket between the fuel tank support strap and the floor pan. Also install new hoses which were disconnected from a barbed fitting.
