Removal
- Turn the key to the RUN position.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

Remove the wheel and tire assembly. |
- Remove and discard the (A) cotter pin from the tie rod end castellated nut and remove the (B) nut.
- Use (A) Tie Rod End Separator to separate the (B) front wheel knuckle from the (C) tie rod end.
- Place alignment marks on the (A) tie rod end, the (B) tie rod end jam nut and the (C) front wheel spindle tie rod.
- Loosen the (A) tie rod end jam nut and remove the (B) tie rod end.
Installation
- Thread the (A) tie rod end onto the (B) front wheel spindle tie rod. Line up the alignment marks.
- Tighten the tie rod end jam nut.
- Connect the (A) tie rod end to the (B) front wheel knuckle.
- NOTE: If necessary, tighten (never loosen) the tie rod end castellated nut until the castellations line up with the cotter pin hole.
Install the tie rod end castellated nut and a new cotter pin.
- Install the wheel and tire assembly.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Align the front wheels to specification.
