REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING:

  • DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR AN OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL-RELATED COMPONENT. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
  • FUEL IN THE FUEL SYSTEM REMAINS UNDER HIGH PRESSURE EVEN WHEN ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING.
  • BEFORE REPAIRING OR DISCONNECTING ANY OF THE FUEL LINES OR FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS THE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE RELIEVED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.

NOTE: Relieve the fuel pressure.

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.

  

  1. Remove the fuel pressure sensor.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Disconnect the vacuum hose.
    • Remove the end screws.
    • Remove the fuel pressure sensor.
  1. Inspect the O-ring seals.Install new O-ring seals if necessary.

INSTALLATION

  1. Lubricate new fuel pressure O-ring seals with clean Super Premium SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.

CAUTION: Never use silicone grease. It will clog the fuel injectors.

  

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
