Removal

NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.

  1. Remove the console.

  

  1. Remove the adjusting nut.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.

  

  1. Remove the muffler shield.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the muffler shield.

  

  1. Disconnect the (A) parking brake return spring and the (B) LH and RH parking brake rear cable and conduits from the (C) front parking brake cable and conduit.

  

  1. Remove the RH front parking brake cable clip.

  

  1. Disconnect the front bracket on the parking brake rear cable and conduit.
1 Remove the bolt.
2 Disconnect the bracket.

  

  1. Disconnect the rear bracket on the parking brake rear cable and conduit.
1 Remove the nut.
2 Disconnect the bracket.

  

  1. On vehicles equipped with rear drum brakes, disconnect the parking brake rear cable and conduit.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Disconnect the parking brake rear cable and conduit.

  

  1. On vehicles equipped with rear drum brakes, disconnect the (A) rear parking brake rear cable and conduit from the (B) parking brake actuating lever.

  

  1. On vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes (Mexico only), remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit.
1 Remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit clip.
2 Slide the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the parking brake rear cable and conduit caliper bracket.
3 Disconnect the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the rear brake operating lever.
  1. Remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
