Two levels of door lock control Systems are available:

  • Full four-door remote system with anti-theft.
  • Anti-theft system

NOTE : The remote entry features will not function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC positions.

The keyless entry remote transmitter emits a radio frequency called Transmitter Identification Code (TIC) . The Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module recognizes the TIC transmitted and grounds the appropriate door lock relay coil. TICs can be retrieved using the scan tool.

Full Four-Door Remote System
The full four-door remote system consists of the following components:

  • RAP module
  • luggage compartment release
  • keyless entry remote transmitter
  • keyless entry remote transmitter

The full four-door system power door locks are controlled through the RAP module by the LH or RH front power door lock switch or the keyless entry remote transmitter. The keyless entry remote transmitter:

  • Unlocks all doors.
  • Unlocks the driver door.
  • Locks all doors.
  • Releases the luggage compartment door.
  • Activates/deactivates the panic alarm.
  • Controls anti-theft features, if equipped. For anti-theft features, refer to Antitheft and Alarm Systems.
  • Turns the interior lights on when unlocking and off when locking.
  • Sounds the horn once when the lock button on the keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice within five seconds and all doors are closed.
  • Sounds the horn twice when the lock button on the keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed twice within five seconds and any door is open.
  • Allows up to four keyless entry remote transmitters to be programmed. Refer to Programming. See: Keyless Entry Transmitter\Testing and Inspection

To release the luggage compartment door, press the trunk button on the keyless entry remote transmitter.

Keyless Entry
The anti-theft system has a three button keyless entry remote transmitter.

When pressed once, the lock button controls turning off the illuminated entry and arms the anti-theft system. When pressed a second time, the horn sounds once to acknowledge that all doors are closed; the horn sounds twice if a door is open.

When pressed, the unlock button turns on the illuminated entry and disarms the anti-theft system.

When the panic button is pressed once it sounds the "panic alarm" (turns on the illuminated entry, honks the horn, and flashes the park lamps). The panic button also disarms the anti-theft system, only if the perimeter alarm has been triggered and is sounding.

When the panic button is pressed a second time the panic alarm is turned off. Also, the anti-theft system is disarmed, only if the perimeter alarm has been triggered and is sounding (does not apply to SRKE vehicles).

This system allows up to four transmitters to be programmed. Refer to Programming. See: Keyless Entry Transmitter\Testing and Inspection
