  Description and Operation

The daytime running lamps control module operates the high-beam headlamps, at a reduced voltage, when the ignition switch is in the ON position, the parking brake is disengaged, and the headlamp switch is OFF. Although the DRL system uses the high-beam filament of the headlamp, it has a voltage reducing resistor to dim the headlamps for daytime operation. This allows the flash-to-pass function during DRL system operation.
