There is a need to remove the A-pillar finisher (left or right side) for any reason,
ACTION
Follow the instructions in this bulletin for A-pillar finisher removal and center retaining clip replacement.
NOTE:
Do not replace the entire A-pillar finisher if only a retaining clip is needed.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
NOTE:
The photos in this procedure are for the right side / passenger side A-pillar. The left side / driver side is a mirror image.
1. Remove the body side welt.
2. Snap loose the upper clip.

If needed, use a plastic trim tool.
NOTE:

The center clip is a "two-stage" clip.

As you snap loose the upper clip the 1st stage of the center clip will come loose.

Do not disconnect the 2nd stage of the center clip. Leave it in the body for now.
3. Use a plastic trim tool to remove the center clip from the finisher (see Figure 4).

Push down on the clip.

The clip will slide out of its holder on the finisher and remain clipped into the body
4. Completely remove the A-pillar finisher.
5. Remove the center clip from the body.

Use a small screw driver to push in on the side of the clip and then remove it.
6. Slide the clip back into its holder on the finisher.
NOTE:
If the center clip is broken or damaged, a new clip is available (P/N 76988 - ZN60A).
7. When repairs are complete, reinstall the A-pillar finisher.

Hold the finisher in place and carefully press on the center and top to snap the clips into place.
