BRAKE PEDAL
Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
- Remove the instrument lower cover (LH) and lower knee protector (LH). Refer to See: Body and Frame\Interior Moulding / Trim\Dashboard / Instrument Panel\Service and Repair\Exploded View.
- Remove the console side finisher (LH). Refer to See: Body and Frame\Interior Moulding / Trim\Dashboard / Instrument Panel\Service and Repair\Exploded View.
- Remove the accelerator pedal. Refer to See: Powertrain Management\Fuel Delivery and Air Induction\Accelerator Pedal\Service and Repair.
- Disconnect the stop lamp switch and ASCD cancel switch connector.
- Remove the stop lamp switch and ASCD cancel switch from the brake pedal assembly.
- Remove the snap pin and clevis pin to disconnect the brake booster clevis from the brake pedal assembly.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the snap pin and clevis pin.
- Remove the brake booster clevis from the input rod.
- Disconnect the steering column assembly pinch bolt to position the steering column assembly aside. Refer to See: Steering and Suspension\Steering\Steering Column\Service and Repair\Exploded View.
- Remove the brake pedal assembly nuts.
- Remove the brake pedal assembly.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the snap pin and clevis pin.
