  2. Select "DATA MONITOR", "ECU INPUT SIGNALS", and "STR ANGLE SIG" on CONSULT-III screen.
  1. Then make sure "STR ANGLE SIG" is within 0±2.5°. If value is more than specification, repeat steps 1 to
  1. Erase memory of ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) and ECM. ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit): Refer to "CONSULT-III Function (ABS). ECM: Refer to See: Powertrain Management\Computers and Control Systems\Testing and Inspection\Scan Tool Testing and Procedures\On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System\CONSULT-III Function.
  2. Turn ignition switch OFF.

SELF-DIAGNOSIS RESULTS

Operation Procedure

  1. Start engine and drive vehicle at 30 km/h (19 MPH) or more for approximately 1 minute.

  1. Perform the appropriate Inspection from display item list, and repair or replace the malfunctioning component.Refer to "Display Item List".
  2. Start engine and drive vehicle at 30 km/h (19 MPH) or more for approximately 1 minute.

CAUTION:
When the wheel sensor malfunctions, after inspecting the wheel sensor system, the ABS warning lamp, VDC OFF indicator lamp, SLIP indicator lamp and brake warning lamp will not turn off even when the system is normal unless the vehicle is driving at approximately 30 km/h (19 MPH) or more for approximately 1 minute.

Erase Memory

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Start engine and touch "ABS", "SELF-DIAG RESULTS", "ERASE MEMORY" in order on the CONSULT-III screen to erase the diagnostic memory. If "ABS" is not indicated, go to See: Testing and Inspection\Scan Tool Testing and Procedures\Description.

CAUTION:
If the diagnostic memory is not erased, re-perform the operation procedure starting with step 1.

  1. Perform self-diagnosis again, and make sure that diagnostic memory is erased.
  2. Drive vehicle at 30 km/h (19 MPH) or more for approximately 1 minute as the final Inspection, and make sure that the ABS warning lamp, VDC OFF indicator lamp, SLIP indicator lamp and brake warning lamp turn off.
