IF YOU CONFIRM:

Poor radio reception.

^ Weak reception.

^ Static.

^ When Seek / Scan is selected, only a few or no stations may lock in.

^ AM stations may be affected more than FM stations.

ACTION:

Inspect the antenna wiring connector for a backed out pin.

^ This connector is located at the base of the passenger side A pillar.

^ The connector number is M501.

Do NOT replace any audio system related parts before inspecting this connector for this incident, should it occur.

CLAIMS INFORMATION

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the passenger side "A" pillar finisher. Refer to the appropriate Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for removal.

  

2. Locate antenna wiring connector M501 at the bottom of the "A" pillar (see Figure 1).

^ M501 is the upper half of the connector.

  

3. Closely inspect this connector for a backed out pin (see Figure 2).

4. If found backed out, re-insert the pin securely.

^ If no pins are found to be backed out, this bulletin does not apply. Refer to the appropriate ESM for further diagnosis.

5. Operate the audio system: verify sound quality and proper operation.
