  Service Procedure  
 
IMPORTANT:
Follow all cautions, warnings, and notes in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) when working on or near a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), such as an air bag.

Remove the left seatback finisher

  

1. Move / adjust the seat bottom and seat back to the full forward positions.

NOTE:
The seat back finisher is held on with:

^ 2 top hooks

^ 2 side clips

^ 2 bottom clips

  

2. Reach under the seat and disconnect the 2 elastic straps for the toe flap.

  

3. Insert your fingers behind the bottom corner of the finisher.

4. Locate the bottom clip with your fingers.

5. Pull the finisher next to the clip to unsnap the clip.

6. Repeat 3, 4 and 5 for the other bottom clip.

  

7. Insert your fingers into the side of the finisher.

8. Locate the "side" clip.

  

9. Support the finisher with the palm of your hand.

10. Pull the finisher next to the clip to unsnap the clip.

11. Repeat 7 to 10 for the other "side" clip.

  

12. Pull down on the finisher to remove it.

  

13. Un-hook the seat cloth in each of the spots shown in Figure 7.

Replace the left cable

  

1. Detach the cable ends at the lower left side (see Figures 8, 9, 10, and 11)

  

2. Detach the left cable ends from the lever (see Figures 12 and 13).

3. Remove the left cable and install a new one in reverse order.

^ Make sure the new cable is routed the same as the old cable.

  

^ Make sure the cable is routed behind the side air bag cloth (see Figures 14 and 15).

^ Make sure cable ends are fully seated in their holders.

Replace the right cable

  

1. Detach the right cable ends at the lower right side (see Figures 16, 17, 18, and 19).

  

2. Detach the cable ends from the lever (see Figures 20 and 21).

  

3. Cut the tie-straps and remove the cable (see Figures 22 and 23).

4. Install a new cable in reverse order.

^ Make sure the new cable is routed the same as the old cable.

^ Install new tie straps (see Figure 23).

^ Make sure cable ends are fully seated in their holders.

Reinstall the seatback finisher

1. Reattach the seat cloth and reinstall the seatback finisher in reverse order.
