HEADLINER LOOSE NEAR REAR WINDOW

APPLIED VEHICLES:
2007 - 2009 Altima Sedan (L32)
2009 Maxima (A35)

IF YOU CONFIRM

The headliner is loose near the rear window.

ACTION

  

^ Replace the three clips located on the Altima and Maxima single sunroof headliner.

^ Replace the six clips located on the Maxima dual sunroof headliner.

^ Do Not replace the headliner for this incident, if it should occur.

NOTE:
The original and replacement clips look very similar. Keep them separate during the procedure.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  

1. Write down all radio station presets.

2. Disconnect both battery cables (negative cable first)

^ Wait at least 3 minutes after battery cables are disconnected before proceeding to step 3.

3. Remove the headliner. Refer to the appropriate section in the Service Manual for removal procedure.

NOTE:
The original and replacement clips look very similar. Keep them separate during the procedure.

  
  

4. Replace the clips. See Figures 1 and 2 to locate clips.

5. Reinstall all parts removed in reverse order.

6. Reconnect the battery cables (positive cable first).

7. Reprogram the radio station presets.

8. Reinitialize the power windows and sunroof as applicable. See the Owner's Manual for details.

9. Confirm this incident has been resolved.
