^ For seat removal procedure, refer to BODY INTERIOR, SEAT of the appropriate Electronic Service Manual (ESM), if needed.

NOTE:
> Before seat removal, turn off the ignition switch, disconnect both battery cables (negative cable first), and then wait at least three (3) minutes.

> When removing and installing, use suitable covering to protect the vehicle from damage.

> Do not use the slide release handle (for fore / aft adjustment) to lift the seat.

> Perform seat repairs in a clean work area, such as a work bench with suitable covering.

> The outer seat finishers extend to the rear. Be careful when laying the seat on its seatback.

CAUTION:
The front passenger seat is equipped with an Occupant Detection System sensor and control module. Do not disassemble the front passenger seat cushion assembly or remove the trim as this will affect the Occupant Detection System's calibration.

NOTE:
Step 3 is for the driver seat only. For passenger seat, refer below to Step 4.

3. For lift type seats only: remove the seat lifter handle (see Figure 1).

The passenger seat may have only three (3) nuts for each track. This is normal.

10. Remove the nuts securing the inner track, and then remove the inner track (see Figure 9).

11. Install the new inner track with new nuts (see Figure 9).

^ Nuts torque sequence: 1-2-3-4

^ Nuts torque: 30 Nm (3.0 kg-m, 22 ft-lb)

NOTE:
Replacement seat tracks have four studs. They are to replace both 3- and 4-stud seat tracks.

12. Install the release handle and return spring to the inner track.

^ See Figure 10 for return spring position.

13. Install the outer track to the release handle and seat (no picture shown).

^ Install the nuts finger tight at this time.

14. Adjust the tracks to measure 430 mm (16-15/16 inches) between each locator pin, and then slightly tighten the nut of the outer track closest to the locator pin (see Figure 11 above).

15. Adjust the tracks to measure 430 mm (16-15/16 inches) between the center of each track hole, and then torque the outer track nuts (see Figure 11).

^ Nuts torque sequence: 1-2-3-4 (see Figure 12)

^ Nuts torque: 30 Nm (3.0 kg-m, 22 ft-lb)

NOTE:
Replacement seat tracks have four studs. They are to replace both 3- and 4-stud seat tracks.

16. Re-check both measurements.

^ If measurements do not match the values given above, loosen the outer track nuts, and then repeat Step 14 and 15.

18. Position the the seatback's rear fabric under both seat finisher ends, and then secure the clips (see Figure 13).

19. Install the seat in the vehicle.

^ Install and torque the seat-to-body bolts in the following order:

Front inner
Front outer
Rear inner
Rear outer

^ Seat bolts torque: 49 Nm (5.0 kg-m, 36 ft lb)

^ For seat installation procedure, refer to BODY INTERIOR, SEAT of the appropriate ESM, if needed.

^ Do not use the release handle to lift the seat.

^ If the tracks are not aligned, lift up on the release handle, and then adjust as needed.
