Diagnosis Procedure
Inspection PROCEDURE
1.CHECK ENGINE SYSTEM
- Perform ECM self-diagnosis. Repair or replace items indicated, then perform ECM self-diagnosis again. Refer to See: Powertrain Management\Computers and Control Systems\Testing and Inspection\Scan Tool Testing and Procedures\On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System\CONSULT-III Function.
- Perform ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) self-diagnosis. Refer to See: Brakes and Traction Control\Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems\Description and Operation\VDC/TCS/ABS\Component Description See: Brakes and Traction Control\Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems\Testing and Inspection\Scan Tool Testing and Procedures\VDC/TCS/ABS, "CONSULT-III Function (ABS)". Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> Inspection end.
NO >>
- Repair or replace malfunctioning components.
- Perform the self-diagnosis, and make sure that the result shows "NO DTC IS DETECTED".
Special Repair Requirement
SPECIAL REPAIR REQUIREMENT
1.ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION
Always perform the neutral position adjustment for the steering angle sensor, when replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to See: Brakes and Traction Control\Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems\Steering Angle Sensor\Testing and Inspection\Description.
