REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Description
Heats the heating wire with the power supply from the rear window defogger relay to prevent the rear window from fogging up.
REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check voltage between rear window defogger connector and ground.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 2
NO >> GO TO 3
- CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect rear window defogger.
- Check continuity between rear window defogger connector and ground.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 5
NO >> Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY 1
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect condenser and rear window defogger.
- Check continuity between condenser connector (A) and rear window defogger connector (B).
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 4
NO >> Replace condenser. Refer to See: Heating and Air Conditioning\Condenser HVAC\Service and Repair\Removal And Installation For Rear Defrost- Coupe or See: Heating and Air Conditioning\Condenser HVAC\Service and Repair\Removal And Installation For Rear Defrost- Sedan.
- CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY 2
- Disconnect fuse block (J/B).
- Check continuity between fuse block (J/B) connector (A) and condenser connector (B).
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 6
NO >> Replace or repair harness.
- CHECK FILAMENT Check filament. Refer to See: Component Inspection.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> Refer to See: Testing and Inspection\Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview\Service Information For Electrical Incident\Intermittent Incident.
NO >> Repair filament. Refer to See: Filament Check.
- CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT Check intermittent incident. Refer to See: Testing and Inspection\Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview\Service Information For Electrical Incident\Intermittent Incident.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> Check the following.
- Battery power supply circuit.
- Fuse block (J/B). NO >> Repair or replace the malfunctioning parts.
