THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LAMP DOES NOT TURN ON

Description

The oil pressure warning lamp stays off when the ignition switch is turned ON.

THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LAMP DOES NOT TURN ON

Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK OIL PRESSURE WARNING LAMP
Perform IPDM E/R auto active test. Refer to See: Power and Ground Distribution\Power Distribution Module\Testing and Inspection\Scan Tool Testing and Procedures\Diagnosis System (IPDM E/R)\Diagnosis Description.
Is oil pressure warning lamp illuminated?
YES >> GO TO 2
NO >> Replace combination meter. Refer to See: Instrument Cluster / Carrier\Service and Repair\Removal and Replacement.
2.CHECK OIL PRESSURE SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT
Check the oil pressure switch signal circuit. Refer to See: Component Tests and General Diagnostics\Oil Pressure Switch Signal Circuit\Diagnosis Procedure.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 3
NO >> Repair harness or connector.
3.CHECK OIL PRESSURE SWITCH UNIT
Perform a unit check for the oil pressure switch. Refer to See: Component Tests and General Diagnostics\Oil Pressure Switch Signal Circuit\Component Inspection.
Is the Inspection result normal?
YES >> Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to See: Power and Ground Distribution\Power Distribution Module\Service and Repair.
NO >> Replace oil pressure switch.
