Chevy Astro Van, Service Engine Soon Light
Q: My '88 Chevy Astro Van has a problem which
I cannot isolate. When the van warms up to operating temperature the "Service
Engine Soon" light will come on and stay on. If I stop the vehicle
and shut it off then restart the vehicle, the indicator is gone and will
not reappear. After the vehicle has been parked and then restarted and
reaches operating temperature, once again it will reappear. What gives?
A: The
computer in your vehicle is telling you that there's a problem! It wants
to tell you about it! The easiest way for the vehicle's computer to share
its problems with you, is with a scan tool that plugs into the computer's
diagnostic terminal. The therapy session will provide the answers to why
your " Service Engine Soon" light is coming on.
