'94 Chevy Lumina, No Cruise or Heater Controls
Q:
Im
unable to select the various heater vents on my 94 Lumina sedan.
At the same time the cruise control quit. No blown fuses have been found.
Is there something in common with these two systems that can cause simultaneous
failures such a the vacuum system? If so how do I troubleshoot it? ........Larry

A:
Yes,
there is a common link between the two and that is the vacuum supply.
If Im not mistaken at the back side of the intake manifold there
is a rubber elbow that is connected to plastic tubing that travels to
the drivers side of the engine compartment. There is a check valve
and tubing that goes to a vacuum reservoir, cruise control and to the
heating and ventilation system. It is not uncommon to find a broken vacuum
supply hose with your system failures.
